John Dillinger caught the attention of the common man, because he was viewed as a “Robin Hood” type criminal, taking from the rich and giving to the poor. The truth was that Dillinger was not anything like a Robin Hood figure. He only gave to himself and he took from everyone. Dillinger is famous for having a shoot out with the FBI and local law enforcements officials at Little Bohemia Lodge in Wisconsin. Dillinger was also famously shot to death when exiting the theater after watching the movie “Manhattan Melodrama” with the so-called “Lady in Red”, Ana Cumpanas, and another woman. FBI Special Agents under Melvin Purvis were outside, waiting for him to appear with his companions. After being shot, Dillinger was taken to St. Alexian Hospital in Chicago and pronounced dead.
