Joe Aiello was a Sicilian Mob Boss, known for having a feud with Capone. He probably plotted with Bugs Moran to have his enemy, Antonio Lombardo President of the Unione Siciliana, killed. This is what probably caused the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre to occur. Aiello was machine-gunned outside a friend’s apartment probably by Capone.

ANTHONY “TONY” ACCARDO (1906-1992) – CRYPT

Mob Boss
Tony Accardo took over the Chicago Outfit in the 40’s. He was allegedly one of the shooters at the St Valentine’s Day Massacre. Joe Batters, the Big Tuna, whatever someone called him, Accardo never went to prison.

Joseph “Joey” Aiuppa was the Chicago Outfit Boss from 1971 to 1986. Went to prison for skimming in Vegas.

Felix “Milwaukee Phil” Alderisio was the Chicago Outfit Boss from 1967-1971. He was sent to prison in 1969, where he died.

Harry Aleman was a much feared enforcer for the Chicago Outfit during the 1970s. He was tried for murder and acquitted. The trial was found to be corrupt and he was retried, and found guilty. He died of cancer while in Prison.

Salvatore “Samoots” Amutuna was part of the Genna Gang and served as President of the Unione Siciliane. He was gunned down while getting a shave.

Sam Battaglia was Boss of the Chicago Outfit from 1966-1967. He was convicted of violating the Hobbs Act. He died at his home shortly after his release.

James “Mad Bomber” Belcastro was known for bombs. He originally worked with the Black Hand gangs and graduated with the Chicago Outfit. He died of natural causes.

Fiore Buccieri started off as a gunman for Capone, but he also got into loan sharking. When Sam Giancana became Boss of the Outfit, Buccieri served as his enforcer and hitman. He eventually died of cancer.

Frank Calabrese Sr. ran the Chinatown crew. He was indicted in 2005 in the Family Secrets Trial, which exposed much of the Chicago Outfit and resulted in many convictions. He died in prison.

Nick Calabrese was a mob hitman working with his brother, Frank. He was arrested and found guilty of racketeering in 1995. In prison, he began to cooperate with the FBI. He testified at the Family Secrets Trial in the 2000’s, which convicted many Chicago mobsters.

Al Capone was called to Chicago by Johnny Torrio, who came to Chicago because he was called in by Big Jim Colosimo. Capone soon rose to control almost the entire city of Chicago. Capone is synonymous with organized crime and gangsters.
