The philosophy behind our tours is simple, we want you to better understand our history by actually seeing those pertinent places. We also try to keep our tourists safe by monitoring the current conditions of those areas toured, both weather and traffic conditions, so you can make the best informed decision about visiting any of these tour sites.

Scott is Your Chicago Tour Guide. He has been an amateur history buff / historian for over 30 years. He has lived most of his life in the Chicago area, living in various places in our area. Our area’s histories have always fascinated him. He has visited every site listed on this website as actually seeing these landscapes helps with understanding the history. Combine that with his voracious appetite for reading about history and Scott has an extensive knowledge of our area.

Scott has always been primarily interested in colonial American histories, United States history, Native American histories, especially those tribes around the Great Lakes and in our area, and local history. Scott has extensively researched Chicago’s history, as well as the local histories of numerous suburbs.

One day he was taking a walking tour in New Orleans and he realized that he had the skills and knowledge to give tours in Chicago. He is passionate about educating people and he started this website to help people better understand our Chicago area history.
